Social media jobs and living with trolls

Hi everyone,

As a lot of you might know from my socials, a while back, I was promoted to Patron of Greavsey's Tuck Shop run by a lovely couple.
Being a patron is very high demanding as it involves being very hands on with every customer and spreading as much positivity as possible and interacting with everyone on the lives, making sure that the chat on the lives is super positive energy and filled with happiness and answering customer enquiries so that we deliver a 5 star service to everyone

Now whilst this is all good for our sweet shop lives, there is a darker side to it.

A lot of you who have been on the lives will know, there have been a huge amount of trolls and hate comments that have been posted about the managers which I'm not happy with and I know that the managers aren't.

As the Patron, I would like to address the situation.

If you are on social media and you are under 18 and commenting nasty things just so you feel better because you enjoy upsetting other people, just don't! Because since lockdown, the uk mental health has been at a record high since the pandemic and if you are a troll, you can make things much worse.

I have had plenty of experiences with trolls saying really horrible comments which I will not repeat as they were so vile. I went to bed pretty much in tears because of what the trolls had said to me, but I'm not afraid now and personally, I just laugh at how pathetic they are!

How would u feel if those things were said about you?? pretty horrible right??!!! I know I would be.
you never know what someone is going through! for all you know, they could be suffering from Anxiety, Depression and other things. It doesn't pay to be nice and to be supportive.

from my point of view, being autistic myself, I suffer a lot with anxiety and depression and it hurts inside when I see a hate comment being made by a troll for no reason! just makes me feel so angry!

For the rest of 2023, can we all try and ensure that we are being supportive to one another and being kind to people!

If you are on live here is what I recommend you do
1) make sure u set boundaries such as 18+
2) add banned keywords so they wont be commented on the live.
3) set some rules to say what you want to happen
4) if the chat starts getting vile, turn your comments off, that'll help you de stress for a while
5) make sure you have 5 or 6 Mods that you can rely on for support as and when you need it

For those of you with social media businesses, I hope you find this helpful from our perspective! We wish social media business a happy 2023

Regards
Jake
