Tips for working in Customer Service at Hollywood Bowl Bracknell

Hi everyone,  Today I want to discuss the pros and cons of working in a customer facing role when you have special needs Personally I find that it can be quite satisfying working in customer service in Hollywood Bowl I work with a team of very intelligent people with their own specialist subjects within the company such as some know how to work some departments more than others For example: my team are Diner Bar Reception and Kitchen and we are supposed to support each other and with the help of the management  What works best for me? How does that benefit me?  In my experience, I work best on the reception desk so that means booking customers in, having a laugh with them and being the front sign of communication in the building I deal with signing for packages with delivery companies on behalf of the duty manager as long as I have verbal permission  I am responsible for turning on the arcade when I arrive at work, im in charge of keeping the bookings coming an...

Dealing with the after effects of a funeral and preparing for an interview

Hi everyone, its been a while since I last posted,  I thought I would come on and discuss about the after affects of going to a funeral as im going through that at the current time. So I attended a funeral the 8th February for a lady who went to my church, she was a lovely friend of mine and well loved throughout.  From my personal experience, I came out the funeral and I found myself getting a little bit emotional and it was a feeling I've never felt before, grieving the loss of a close friend.  It was hard coming out of a lovely service and It was a little bit overwhelming, it was lovely making conversation with the family of the person who had passed. I appreciate that it can be hard for people to make conversation straight after a funeral service, especially at a crematorium.   I think for me, the part that hits me the most is when the funeral director put the flowers down outside after the service had finished  But now the after effects come......

Dealing with Grieving and how to help someone with Grief

Hi everyone,  In the last week, I had some very sad news that someone I knew fairly well had passed away and it came as quite a shock to me, so I thought I would come on here and talk about it from a first hand point of view.  I want to address this problem as it happens more and more each and lots of people suffer with grieving and everyone deals with it differently.  From someone who is autistic, I don't deal with sad news very well as I have lost so many people really close to me and I want to give some tips to anyone who is currently going through this.  It is really important to talk about grieving, it doesn't help to keep it in. I did that for years and years and I struggled so so much which is why I want to try and help anyone who sees this.  Jake's Tips for anyone who is grieving  1) make sure you have someone close to you who you trust that you can talk to about how you feel 2) make sure that you have some food and some water so that you don't star...

Coming to terms with Eating orders

Hi everyone following on from my post about mental health, I want to talk about an issue called an eating disorder.  this can happen for many reasons.  a lot of people in this country and around the world have problems with eating and drinking.  from my own background, I have had problems eating when I've had bad news and its the worst feeling in the entire universe.  Throughout the coaching I've received from my mental health coach, I have been given targets to try and achieve every day of the week to try and help to motivate me to eat at least 1 meal a day.  I'll share some of my story but it does come as a trigger warning when I was very young, I lost someone very special to me and someone incredibly close to me which broke me and my life was changed forever, I couldn't eat anything as I felt sick and I didn't feel myself for at least a whole month because of how sad and how upset I was.  The year after I was diagnosed with autism and again that broke me...

Living with Mental Health

Good afternoon everyone,  I thought it would be in order that I would come on here and discuss an important issue that is on the rise in the UK.   This issue is Mental Health A lot of people up and down the country have been diagnosed with some sort of condition such as: Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression etc.   On social media especially since lockdown, these conditions have been getting more and more from being locked inside our houses and everything. There are so many people on there that either don't understand certain things or struggle to accept any kind of support network from either friends, family or colleagues or online friends.  From my point of view, I was diagnosed very early on at the age of 10 after something incredibly sad happened that changed my life forever! Living with autism can be extreamley difficult at times. There are times that I physically want to cry and scream and let all my emotions out but I have people that rely on look up to ...

Social media jobs and living with trolls

Hi everyone,  As a lot of you might know from my socials, a while back, I was promoted to Patron of Greavsey's Tuck Shop run by a lovely couple.  Being a patron is very high demanding as it involves being very hands on with every customer and spreading as much positivity as possible and interacting with everyone on the lives, making sure that the chat on the lives is super positive energy and filled with happiness and answering customer enquiries so that we deliver a 5 star service to everyone  Now whilst this is all good for our sweet shop lives, there is a darker side to it.  A lot of you who have been on the lives will know, there have been a huge amount of trolls and hate comments that have been posted about the managers which I'm not happy with and I know that the managers aren't.  As the Patron, I would like to address the situation.  If you are on social media and you are under 18 and commenting nasty things just so you feel better because you enjoy ...
