Coming to terms with Eating orders
Hi everyone
following on from my post about mental health, I want to talk about an issue called an eating disorder.
this can happen for many reasons.
a lot of people in this country and around the world have problems with eating and drinking.
from my own background, I have had problems eating when I've had bad news and its the worst feeling in the entire universe.
Throughout the coaching I've received from my mental health coach, I have been given targets to try and achieve every day of the week to try and help to motivate me to eat at least 1 meal a day.
I'll share some of my story but it does come as a trigger warning
when I was very young, I lost someone very special to me and someone incredibly close to me which broke me and my life was changed forever, I couldn't eat anything as I felt sick and I didn't feel myself for at least a whole month because of how sad and how upset I was.
The year after I was diagnosed with autism and again that broke me and sometimes that doesn't make me feel good either.
Being autistic and struggling with eating can sometimes make my life an absolute misery because 9 times out of 10 I get out of bed and think okay I want something to eat but then when I go downstairs, I think to myself whats the actual point of eating.
For any of my friends, i recommend the better together mental health support group on Facebook and the safe space on discord because these have the best coaching available anywhere and completely free of charge! (which is amazing)
The better together group manager taught me this really amazing breathing technique called in for 5 out for 5 and it helps with eating weather i'm unhappy and just want to end up crying. The group manager taught me to take a step back and just do the technique until i'm calm enough to do that activity weather its making a meal or weather its just making a sandwich.
If you join the better together support group, do message the group manager as she is lovely and she can help with ED's! if you join the sweet shop support group, it is all about sweets and food and such an incredible community! They will deffinatley help with eating problems and ED's as they have both helped me amazingly and I couldn't be more thankful for everything they have done for me!
Should you be struggling with ED's or eating problems and you find it hard, do speak up about it, have a 1-1 with someone in the support groups so you can get the amazing support that I have especially to this day!
Please don't hesitate to contact me or the support groups mentioned if you would like a 1-1 chat about the situation I have been talking about
Many thanks
Jake
