Dealing with the after effects of a funeral and preparing for an interview
Hi everyone, its been a while since I last posted,
I thought I would come on and discuss about the after affects of going to a funeral as im going through that at the current time. So I attended a funeral the 8th February for a lady who went to my church, she was a lovely friend of mine and well loved throughout.
From my personal experience, I came out the funeral and I found myself getting a little bit emotional and it was a feeling I've never felt before, grieving the loss of a close friend.
It was hard coming out of a lovely service and It was a little bit overwhelming, it was lovely making conversation with the family of the person who had passed. I appreciate that it can be hard for people to make conversation straight after a funeral service, especially at a crematorium.
I think for me, the part that hits me the most is when the funeral director put the flowers down outside after the service had finished
But now the after effects come...
As I headed home on the bus, I started feeling fairly sad, I didn't want to do a great deal as I was going home but thanks to my support group better together who are a mental health (18+) support group and Greavsey's Tuck shop, the safe space I have some amazing techniques to help me control how I feel.
When you're grieving the loss of a loved one, i would suggest that you have someone who you can open up to. It's okay to not be okay, its okay to let out how you feel, and even i'm struggling with that, even I admit that. and i'm asking for help and support from the 2 groups that im part of and I really recommend that if you're struggling, please do reach out for support as there is lots of support out there for you
Now for the exciting section!!!!
