Tips for working in Customer Service at Hollywood Bowl Bracknell

 Hi everyone, 

Today I want to discuss the pros and cons of working in a customer facing role when you have special needs

Personally I find that it can be quite satisfying working in customer service in Hollywood Bowl

I work with a team of very intelligent people with their own specialist subjects within the company such as some know how to work some departments more than others

For example: my team are Diner Bar Reception and Kitchen and we are supposed to support each other and with the help of the management 


What works best for me? How does that benefit me? 

In my experience, I work best on the reception desk so that means booking customers in, having a laugh with them and being the front sign of communication in the building

I deal with signing for packages with delivery companies on behalf of the duty manager as long as I have verbal permission 

I am responsible for turning on the arcade when I arrive at work, im in charge of keeping the bookings coming and making sure I don't go over the safety numbers for the centre 


This role benefits me in the fact that I get to talk to customers and see how they are, I get to know who my regular punters are and how many games they like

I absolute love booking in birthday parties at reception, it makes me feel so so happy when i get to have a really lovely conversation with the customer and when I'm able to answer all their questions 

I adore putting food orders through to the kitchen as we get to communicate to the head chef about allergies the customer have 

The best feeling in the world comes when you find out their is a group with a member who has a birthday as I can give them a celebration sticker and some balloons + a birthday message on the screen while the group are playing!!! 


Would I recommend this job to others?

yes 100%!!!!! The money is so good!!! We are such a friendly team at Hollywood Bowl Bracknell!!

Cons of working in customer service at Hollywood Bowl Bracknell!!!

    • Rosters aren't very regular in advance so they don't go every so many months in advance, it's mainly every few weeks or so
    • Sometimes we only have 1 management on shift 
    • Some customers can be extreamley rude and you have to be on your guard all of the time whilst in the centre, you never know when some idiots might come in and want to destroy everything!

Dealing with the after effects of a funeral and preparing for an interview

 Hi everyone, its been a while since I last posted,  I thought I would come on and discuss about the after affects of going to a funeral as im going through that at the current time. So I attended a funeral the 8th February for a lady who went to my church, she was a lovely friend of mine and well loved throughout.  From my personal experience, I came out the funeral and I found myself getting a little bit emotional and it was a feeling I've never felt before, grieving the loss of a close friend.  It was hard coming out of a lovely service and It was a little bit overwhelming, it was lovely making conversation with the family of the person who had passed. Social media jobs and living with trolls
